Current Employee - Account Leadership in Denver, CO

I have been working at Integer Group full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Great clients, fun parties, free beer. Amazing talent. Flexible schedule and quite a bit of travel opportunities. You are also given a lot of opportunity to work on your own with a high level of trust from directors.

Cons

Lack of communication and "senior" management - over the past couple of years they seem less interested and less visible. They hide behind office doors and only seem to come out or show up at very scripted and planned times or to do disaster management. Horrible communication from leadership and organization as a whole. There is nothing authentic left about Integer. It has become an advertising sweatshop (reminiscent of CP+B days) with very little genuine creativity. Even though they constantly scream about how creative they are. If TIG was really a creative place you wouldn't have to constantly say how creative you are. It is hurting the clients and the art directors.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees. Cut the top heavy account directors/creative directors.

    Pros

Some really wonderful people. Fun parties. Generous time-off schedule. We get really great talent here. They just need to work harder at retaining it.

    Cons

Senior management is VERY top-heavy and has become out of touch with the worker bees in the past few years. Morale is at an all-time low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees and you might figure out why they're leaving in droves and be able to stop it.

    Pros

Biggest shop in Colorado. Some good people just like any big company. The benefits and time off are solid. Use it and lose it, good source for experience in a niche of advertising. But don't stay too long, it can limit other career opportunities.

    Cons

Most of the Director level and above have never managed anywhere else. They don''t even realize they don't know much about the ad world they work in, just the little corner that is Integer. One of the most consistent sayings at Integer,"If you didn't do it at Integer it doesn't matter." A lot of people have start over at Integer, no matter where they have worked prior or for how long.

Cliquey is too shallow of a word to describe the unfortunate overt cronyism and favoritism that is a norm at the company. Many reviews have talked about needing to be an insider, be part of the popular crowd, etcetera. It is the truth. If you can suck up or "network" and still look yourself in the mirror every morning, then it will be okay for you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Time to evolve. Listen to everyone, not just the ones agreeing with you. There are a lot of people that want to talk, but the silence is deafening due to the ramifications if you do speak up.
