This company is a long way from making it and a short time from being bought up.

I have been working at Integra Telecom full-time (less than an year)

Pros

Pay is good, great benefits, training was fun. I had everything I needed to begin work on day 1, laptop, phone number, access to most systems.

Cons

The overall morale in the office is so low that I hate coming into the office. In one months time, more than half of the sales force was put on pip, let go or simply left the company. The support folks are not skilled or experienced enough to fullfil their role. Assigned accounts are a joke.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to focus on raising morale, trust and skills of your employees.

I worked at Integra Telecom full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

For the most part, general cooperation exists between cross functional teams, and the people are easy to work with.

    Cons

There were two major changes in the senior leadership teams in the year I was there. There was a lack of focus on process improvements, with new processes developed and then ignored. Sales teams suffered a high turnover rate due to constant changes in the compensation plan, resulting in loss of key customers and the associated revenues. This led to a significant layoff across all functional groups, to include my own job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Plan your work and work your plan. It is that simple. To make changes to your plans before they are fully implemented leads to a lack of confidence of your own employees, and a lack of confidence from you customers.

I worked at Integra Telecom full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

There are alot of good people that work there. Not really micro-managed at all if you do your job and do it well.

    Cons

EVERYTHING is a rush which means no one really believes when there is a true rush.
they aren't willing to pay the good people to keep them around and end up hiring un-trained people which shows in the customer service.
The turnover rate is high and it takes too long to get approval to re-post for the same job which means more work for existing employees
Not enough resources to deliver what is promised which creates alot of finger pointing between departments.
No policy or procedure is ever delivered to the organization as a whole which means one department can change the way they do something without other departments being made aware.
No procedures or policies are in place and if they do make any, they change within a few months or no one if forced to follow them so no one adheres to them.
Middle management isn't given enough authority to make any kind of positive change. If they do challenge upper management, then the position seems to be eliminated and reposted as something different.
what was once a good benefit plan, seems to be reducing each year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow your middle managers to have more say in how their department is run. They only seem to be a place for escalation and cannot really train their employees and develop process to improve production.
