I have been working at Intel Corporation

    Pros

    - Big name to put in CV
    - They have some engineers with great technical skills to work with.
    - Mediorce pay compared to local companies.

    Cons

    - Intel is already bureaucracy behemoth. To make matters worse, managers are not reluctant to devise new paperworks and meaningless projects just to make them look good and gain more control over engineers and technicians.
    - Shark tank working environment. FOCAL performance review kills trust between employees.
    - Too much brainwashing about how great Intel is: mangers bullshitting about Intel values, people at quarterly Business Update Meetings (BUM) are really clueless about the company's performance and strategies.
    - Too many rules ( no running, don't use laptop without a mouse, use the handrail...) that makes me feel like a prisoner.
    - Acronyms are abused. I spent my first months not having a clue what people were talking about.
    - Here in Vietnam, people who work on shift are rotated between day shift and night shift everymonth, which everyone hates. Also, the newly built factory here is filled mostly with old machines from other Intel sites- pain in the ass to work with :(

Ready to quit when my contract ends.

I have been working at Intel Corporation

    Pros

Paid time off, the company is cash rich and stable. They are the industry leader and have a good redeployment policy. Amazing talent and great people to work with.

    Cons

Work life balance is a joke. Ergonomics is not valued company wide. R&R is unfair in some groups. You do not have access to information that will help you with your job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't be stingy. Be flexible with with work life balance. Add on-site day care. Accommodate single people. Make ergonomics a value company wide where budget issues are not a concern.
