    Current Employee - Mechanical Engineer
    Recommends
    Approves of CEO

    Pros

    talented engineers, nice and friendly working environment; cross functional knowledge sharing; full functional R&D organization in China which is much better than other MNC;

    Cons

    politics impact the business & organization; salary is average in the industry; promotions may far away for talented young engineers; not good for mechanical engineering; and of course, the loss of Pat Gelsinger...

    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam)
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam)
    Doesn't Recommend
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

    - Big name to put in CV - They have some engineers with great technical skills to work with. - Mediorce pay compared to local companies.

    Cons

    - Intel is already bureaucracy behemoth. To make matters worse, managers are not reluctant to devise new paperworks and meaningless projects just to make them look good and gain more control over engineers and technicians. - Shark tank working environment. FOCAL performance review kills trust between employees. - Too much brainwashing about how great Intel is: mangers bullshitting about Intel values, people at quarterly Business Update Meetings (BUM) are really clueless about the company's performance and strategies. - Too many rules ( no running, don't use laptop without a mouse, use the handrail...) that makes me feel like a prisoner. - Acronyms are abused. I spent my first months not having a clue what people were talking about. - Here in Vietnam, people who work on shift are rotated between day shift and night shift everymonth, which everyone hates. Also, the newly built factory here is filled mostly with old machines from other Intel sites- pain in the ass to work with :( Ready to quit when my contract ends.

    Advice to Management

    Wake up and make life easier for everyone.
