Pros

It is a large company with many opportunities. In addition, Intel encourages people to try new things and expand their skills into different areas. For a technology company, it is quite stable and works to ensure employees have interesting and challenging jobs. One nice thing about working for Intel is that you can manage large projects or teams that you might never get a chance to do at many other companies. You also have a degree of freedom in putting your ideas into action, although justifying the cost and wading through the red-tape is getting more and more difficult. Overall, I like working here and find it enjoyable and interesting.

Cons

Like any large company, it can be bureacratic and relatively slow to react. Even though Intel provides stock options, they are worth far less than in the past. Back in the 1990's even as an individual contributor, you could reasonably expect to retire a millionaire, but those days are long gone. Intel can be a difficult place to work if you are not highly motivated. Most managers here will not closely manage you and you are often left on your own to make important decisions. This is not always a downside, but can be for those people who need lots of direct, regular manager interface.

Advice to Management

Don't be so reactionary to changes in market conditions. Just make a plan and stick to it.

    Pros

Great and smart people to work with. Great learning environment for someone new to the industry. Nice corporate culture and events. In the Semi conductor industry, intel is not only a world leader, but it is also one of the most stable companies in the high tech industry

    Cons

too much work, always bring work home. Like other tech companies, intel has a heavy work load that it passes to its engineers. compared to other companies, intel is known to pay less. Also, it is hard to leave intel once your there. (that could be viewed as a good thing)

    Advice to Management

Make work flow more efficient and effective, either higher more people or pay your current people more
