I worked at Intel Corporation full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    always new opportunities (see cons)

    Cons

if you are above 55, have a health issue (that you got at or through work), they will "motivate" you to leave the company. You get a package, but by far not enough to survive to 65, nor to survive the unemployment stage above 55.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the expertise, find ways to have them stay on board at least part-time.

8 years at Intel and 12 bosses later... "if you don't like it now, just wait 6 months"

    I worked at Intel Corporation

    Pros

Working with lots of smart people who care about what they're doing, most at it for long hard hours and with a smile. When the company does well financially, bonuses can be a welcome boon.

    Cons

Management struggles with how to grow the business as they remain beholden to their PC OEM business line. If you're not working in the more stable "core" business groups, this can mean a lot of job volatility. Having said that, their redeployment program allows for moving around and a varied work experience if you can survive.
