Pros

Good total compensation. Opportunities are abundant with respect to career and location.

Cons

Review process is horrible. It used to be a popularity contest among first level managers, staged behind closed doors. Now it's even less transparent. Once you turn 50, unless you are a well-connected manager, you become a target. You will be urged to accept a voluntary separation package. Alternatively, you can stay and defend your job every year or two.

Advice to Management

Watch the depth of your experience pool. Stop asking for more H1B visas and concentrate on motivating and retaining the local talent you have.

    Pros

Interesting advanced engineering systems / installations

    Cons

Very poor employee morale. Very poor working environment / atmosphere. Very poor time management with employees (perhaps due to workloads) resulting in VERY common ('the norm') behaviour such as not to show up to pre-arranged meetings. Blame culture, particularly applied to Suppliers. Very common to find unapproachable, 'hot-headed' and unprofessional staff who think that hard nosed / kick-ass attitudes are the only way to get results from Suppliers.

    Advice to Management

Review your hiring policies / practices. Spend some time and money finding true route causes for: lack of motivation, blame culture. Aim for a semi-pleasant work environment (at least). Don't think that due to the companies size that you will have an indispensable supply of Vendors who will choose to work for you when market conditions change

    Pros

Challenging work, a sense of accomplishment daily, working with the best and smartest people in the Industry, opportunity to change roles and grow and learn new job skills. Great internal training and training is a focus for everyone, not just a few. The pay is excellent adn you manage your own time. They embrace innovation and new ideas. Can be a life long career stop with great beneifts. I was an employee for 10 years, left for a couple and am now back as a contract employee and feel like I am home again. Grass was not greener on the other side, but love being here as Consultant/ Contractor

    Cons

The work is demanding and can be stressful. Comapny is filled with "Alphas / Drivers" and is not for the meek and quiet. ( May not be a Con, but is what it is)
