Former Employee – worked at Intel Corporation full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Innovative and leading edge process technology. A lot of opportunity to move around the company to experience new positions, markets and technologies. Strong balance sheet with high GM and billions in the bank. After 7 years, FT employees earn a 8 week paid sabbatical!!! Should be a role model benefit for all large corporations who have the resources and infrastructure to support.
Cons – Executive Management changes coming in 2013 with CEO leaving. Lack of focus, arrogance and execution painted Intel into a corner and extremely late to market in the highly competitive smartphone and tablet space. They have a lot of catching up to do yet have the focus and drive to succeed.
Advice to Senior Management – Middle Management. Remove or reorganize middle managers who are not qualified to lead people and their careers because they earned these positions through their long term employment instead of leadership and management qualifications. Many people are fed up with this problem and are leaving on their own terms.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
