Pros

good work-life balance. great place to work and learn takes care of the employees good recognition of the work done

Cons

Too many people doing the same job Tends to retain the low performers making life difficult for the high achievers Very less accountability from senior management

Advice to Management

Please put people as per their expertise and not because one needs to fill a requisition.

A once proud company misses the mobile revolution and becomes a niche manufacturer for high-end computing.

    Pros

Stable profitability in a very cyclical industry. Vast resources of cash and people to meet it's goals. Decent bonus, stock and benefit programs.

    Cons

Extremely slow to change. Blind pursuit of Moore's Law at all costs is driving the company off a cliff --- producing high cost chips that no mobile customers will buy. Inefficient, non-competitive X86 designs that don't work for mobile chips.

    Advice to Management

Stop pretending that the last 40 years of strategy will lead to success. The industry has changed to low-cost "Good-Enough" computing and winning those products is our only path to growth.

    Pros

You work with really smart people who want to do their very best. Great problem solvers and want to collaborate to solve problems. Access to the best technology, tools, etc. If you are in the right spot you work very very very hard and long hours. But it can be soo fun! Because of this I would recommend this to a friend if they knew what they were getting into.

    Cons

Tons of slackers. There is deadwood that needs to be cleared out. Lots of people who are afraid to take risks. Too conservative in their products and marketing of them. Decision making is slow and everyone that helps you they feel that they can make your decisions for you. Senior management is not egalitarian at all. There is a class system even though within the company mantra there is not. Intel uses internal benchmarks to determine if their products are competitive and drinks their own marketing information.

    Advice to Management

Grow up. Start focusing your employees energy. Take some risks. Value your employees that take risks not the "yes" employees.
