Former Employee – worked at Intel Corporation
Pros – Flexiblity in regards to work schedule and telecommuting since it is a global organization
Opportunity to work on challenging work and leverage an intelligent knowledge base
Strong focus on employee development
The opportunities for advancement are there, but it is up to "you" seek the opportunities and shine - take advantage of the 1:1's with your manager.
Excellent benefits
I loved my "job" but the culture was stifling
Cons – Analysis paralysis
Bureaucracy
They like "yes" people, which I am not
Short sightedness - focuses on short-term vs. long-term sustainable gains
Risk adverse - need more innovative, fresh idea thinkers
Morale has significantly decreased over the years - it went from a "great place to work" to dreading my days in a matter of two years
Advice to Senior Management – Invest in keeping your people. Employees aren't willing to stay on board simply because of name recognition anymore. Recognize employees and encourage the values that Intel was formed upon - risk taking, great place to work etc. Lower attrition through needs motivating factors. Learn from the past - get out of the cycle of hire and fire; this affects the bottom line in a negative fashion.
