Pros

People are friendly, generally great team spirit. Some members of the Executive team are inspiring. Others are irratic. Good community outreach/involvement

Cons

Micromanagement of competent employees while they look the other way with lousy employees. Massive abuse of time off and calling out sick (well beyond amount of time that is offered in benefits package) with no consequences. Then the work falls on the shoulders of people who actually show up on time, when they are scheduled. Worked at the new hotel and then the Mark and it's much nicer work environment at the older property.

Advice to Management

Crack down on abuse of time off by employees who have no PTO or Vacation days. It's rampant and although it saves the dept money in the form of unpaid days off, you're killing those of us who actually only take time that's in our PTO or vacation bank.

    Pros

Benefits, Education, The ability to reach out to Senior Leaders, Wide Brands available, Travel support, Autonomy in daily decision making, easy process for reconciling corporate credit card.

    Cons

Extensive travel, little to no down time during certain parts of the year, at times there are very high expectations on the job, It is often hard to keep up with the new trends in the industry and incorporate it into our training opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be open and transparent with employees. Look for opportunities to involve those you lead in the day to day business and in the up and coming business.

  2. Great place to work as an employee! Not as good as a contractor.

    Pros

New and exciting technology in use, new challenges to tackle.

    Cons

There is a high level of contractors that come and go on the IT team. This prevents some groups from having a "team" environment.
