Pros

Diversity and organizations values are among the best in the world. Employee benefits are great as well.

Cons

No real balance of life and work in operations. Corporate level is amazing if you can get there. It is hard as nails to obtain a corporate position.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote from within, and do not make it so hard to for internal employees to advance into corporate positions.

I worked at InterContinental Hotels Group as a contractor

    Pros

Access to a number of resource materials.
Technology team has acknowledged there are some issues, and they are working hard to address them.
The knowledge that the old timers share about the hotel industry is priceless.
Profitable regardless of all of the bad reviews on TripAdvisor.

    Cons

25 to 30hrs a week in meetings - When are you supposed to work?
Inexperienced managers, my manager didn't understand product management at all.
Projects do not have a business case or an ROI model before they commit to them. I got an idea !!!
They never complete projects. They launch them with an absurd amount of bugs and then they just move on to the next project.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop ignoring the fact that some of your middle managers are clueless. You can provide all of the training in the world, but some people just are not meant to be managers.
