I have been working at InterContinental Hotels Group full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Focused on employee engagement and development. Constant training which helps staff develop their skills.

Cons

Politics is always an issue. Sometimes getting too demanding, staff tends to be over-worked. Salary review needs attention. Have worked for almost 7 years but the salary increment was so low annually.

Former Employee - Management At Corporate Hotel

I worked at InterContinental Hotels Group full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Some great people, but not enough

    Cons

Artificial focus on Guests - a "do as I say, not as I do" mentality. High expectations for people who are working very hard, but hardly making minimum wage unless in a union area. Then the managers are in trouble for not motivating the employees to make the guests happy. Advancement is totally political - totally! Everyone in corporate is busy trying to make their jobs the most important and therefore piling more and more on the hotels, who have enough to do. No consistency in management at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stabilize, quit surrounding yourselves with yes people - you might learn something.
