I worked at InterContinental Hotels Group as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Long term opportunity that will generate lots of crappy work and you have to be YES boy/girl for the idiots that run the show here. If you can suck up, you can make good money and stability. But, you will become an idiot just like them.

    Cons

Everything else. The worst of it all, these are bunch of racists. If you are not fair skinned you can't rise to sr management. They won't consider your opinion/idea. Fair skinned boys/gals club here. Even if you manage to do a phenomenal job, they will transfer the credits on one of their fair skinned boys/gals and shift the blame on you (provided you are not fair skinned). Sr management addresses workforce with racist terms in the internal meetings and they are still running show.

I have been working at InterContinental Hotels Group full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Small company. Easy going and laid back work environment.

    Cons

Nebulous company structure. Personal involvement from some management in issues.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More management team interaction. Discussions and consensus are more effective than micro-management.
