InterContinental Hotels – “A great place to learn what not to do!

InterContinental Hotels Manager in San Francisco, CA:   (Current Employee)

Pros

Competitive salary, flexible work schedule and ability to work from home. They throw extravagant annual conferences.

Cons

The rules of the IHG game is to cover your own ass, push your work off on other people and take credit where credit isn't due. You can't walk around without bumping into someone's own personal agenda. If you're not friends with the right people, your career growth is stunted.

Advice to Senior Management

While other brands are taking steps forward, IHG is stagnant. For example the movement towards cluster sales, revenue and accounting are implemented by our competition because they realize the benefits of cross selling properties, stream lining accounting procedures and sharing information.
