Be ready to face crappy work, no direction, no guidance, mentoring, tons of politics.

Highly Technical (Former Employee)
Atlanta, GA

I worked at InterContinental Hotels

ProsHave LOTS of money to waste.
Very generous to employees (even if they suck).
Good place to work if you want to convert to an idiot in < 1 year.

ConsEverything else. I haven't been able to figure out 1 thing they are strong in. Listing a few.
NO leadership.
Almost zero technical expertise in the leadership. They can't even make 1 seasoned decision on technology without doing 200 meetings and spending thousands.
Politics and lots of it.
Blame game and lots of it. Teams come up with fake and completely baseless accusation on other teams to cover their own mistake. Only happens at IHG.
Too many talkers, very less doers.
Unstable production due to the above and complete inability to troubleshoot.
Corruption - conflict of interest. Managers/Directors create fake positions to fill with their own contractors, benefiting their pockets. Most teams are less than 50% utilized.
Most people who love working at IHG, don't know how retarded you will feel once you start your job search.

Advice to Senior ManagementChange the culture if you want to turn this company around.
Start with cleansing the technical leadership. Bring in strong technical leaders with passion, innovation, morals and values with proven track records instead of people who you know already (and they are retards).
Cut the corruption before it hits media.
Bring ownership and accountability.
Too many projects were run and didn't make it to production, just got scrapped because they ran out of budget. No one is held accountable when projects are scrapped after spending millions.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
