I worked at Interactive Data

Pros

The only reason to work here is if you can't get hired at another market data provider or Wall Street firm.

Cons

Current senior management has little knowledge of the various businesses and even less respect for the people that work there. They foster an environment that encourages back-stabbing and politics versus being the best.

I have been working at Interactive Data

    Pros

Very family-oriented. Not much room for advancement. Managers are fair, but resources are very tight given that it was taken over by private equity

    Cons

Pay is very bad. No discretionary bonus structure. Pay is not very competitive at all. Hiring practices are very slow and tedious.

Good for basic development - silos exist, and elitist new camp from new management

I have been working at Interactive Data

    Pros

No micro-management, interesting business area, relaxed environment

    Cons

New leadership lacks communication. There are two disconnected camps of engineers: those who build and support the production systems, and those who experiment/build unknown pie-in-the-sky solutions. There's very little communication between the two camps.

No communication from the new upper management. Who is Mason Slain and his folks. No one really knows.
