I worked at Intermountain Healthcare full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

As listed above, the company is one of the best to work for. They have a great team atmosphere, great pay, great benefits. Good management, and it's an in demand field.

Cons

Patient billing was my field, and it is emotionally taxing. Hard to listen to people who are sick or have a sick loved one all day everyday. The other downside, it's pretty much impossible to get hired. Unless you know someone in the company who can refer you, you have little chance. It's a secret about most healthcare jobs.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more outside people who don't necessarily have, "connections" more often. they can be just as qualified.

I worked at Intermountain Healthcare full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Intermountain offers excellent benefits, and a great working environment. It has been satisfying to know that I work for one of the top health care organizations in the United States.

    Cons

Intermountain offers paid time off for full and part time employees, but you can expect to use it regularly. If you are working in patient care, you can expect to get sent home on low census.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management is often made up of nursing staff. By itself, this is not a problem, but intermountain needs to invest in management training for their nurse managers. I have had some excellent nurse managers and some horrible ones.
