Pros

Great benefits and immersion into the IT world. Great Job if you a quick learner and can pick up concepts quickly.

Cons

Shift work. Can't really join any social clubs that meet on a regular schedule, as there is not much warning for when your shift will change. Usually 2 weeks max if its a morningevening schedule change. They do give you further warning if its a day or evening night change. Internap tends to be a department blame game between all sectors in Internap. Tools are not up to par with business needs to support the customer base, and management has been promising to get the tools needed for years, citing budget issues as the main cause for not having these tools available.

Advice to Management

Listen more to customer feedback. Upper management needs to listen more to the parties that interface directly with customer and know their needs best rather than making blind decisions that hurt the company image, financially and everyone that works there emotionally.

    Pros

Great PTO plan, paid parking, and good health benefits with Cigna. Groups are organized but some can have improved communications. Shome tools for looking are data are not good at all and need a major overhall and the company just keeps promising to give us better tools but never delivers claiming budget troubles, etc.

    Cons

VP level mgmt does not talk openly to the rest of staff. People do not say hello in the hall hardly ever unless they already know you. Many seem either tired, bored or over worked so maybe that is why they never say hello. Seems the culture is to go on and be busy at your desk and not get to know anyone.

    Advice to Management

Stop being away from the common workers or base employees and get to know them by having face to face interactions.

I worked at Internap Network Services (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Internap offers above average benefits for employees (a particularly good pension scheme), a flexible working environment and actually has a very decent portfolio of services on offer. It has some unique advantages that enable some competitive advantage to win new and grow new business

    Cons

Senior Leadership's acceptance of unrealistic sales targets combined with a diluted commission structure has left the sales team decimated with an alarming rate of attrition. A lack of vision and general understanding of what employees need and want from the top level down has brought things to a status quo today.

    Advice to Management

Look at what has worked previously in terms of incentivisation and strategy - strengthen up all departments with experts in their field that can inspire and lead with confidence. Make it an exciting and inspirational place to work again and ensure they are given equal opportunities to succeed - this means new starters get accounts as well seasoned professionals. Above all, need to support the customers you have to reduce churn and encourage growth particularly from an operational perspective before aggressively going after new logo's.
