I have been working at International Truck and Engine
Pros – The only reason to work at International is if you are an engineer with diesel engine experience and you MUST live near Chicago. The only other place to work is Case New Holland? International knows this, they know that their employees are "stuck" because if they want to quit and get a new job, they MUST relocate.
Actually, the only other reason to work there is that they pay their non-managers overtime. So if you do not have a life, you can make up for the poor salary with the overtime pay. Just do not count on it as they have "frozen" overtime in the past when budgets get tight.
Cons – International does not pay very well. They hire engineers from the bottom of the barrel. They are currently understaffed. Waaaay understaffed. Engineers are quitting this company left and right. If you interview with this company, be sure to ask how many engineers in the specific department have quit in the last year.
Advice to Senior Management – Maybe if you paid a decent salary, people would stop quitting.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
