I worked at Intertek

Pros

Good paid, good people. all employers are helpful and respectful. they try to assist you in your tasks as much as possible.

Cons

no future. the operations in the city i worked weren't as much as i expected. I have been free at the office most of the time. the office's environment at the location i worded wasn't helpful and healthy.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

keep it up. How the employees are communicated with the managers was just perfect. I liked how lower staff are directly connected the big mamagers.

    I worked at Intertek

    Pros

OK place to work, pay was average.

    Cons

Average pay not a lot of training and very little support, it seems the people hired to do a certain job left it up to the employees to do it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start over, managemnet should take into account the facts before setting goals for it's employess. Management was also very out of touch.

I have been working at Intertek

    Pros

Intertek provides good entry-level jobs that help employees build their customer service skills and teamwork tactics. The benefits are great, with 4 weeks paid vacation and excellent health insurance. The work environment is much more lax than other places that I've been, which can be good and bad, but overall the low-stress atmosphere keeps most workers happy.

    Cons

Career advancement opportunities are minimal, mainly due to the fact that the facility is small and most of the employees are still relatively young.

Holes in the management chain, i.e. unqualified managers, present problems when annual reviews come around. Those who have performed poorly get raises and promotions nearly equal to those that have worked above and beyond expectations.

Work expectations can sometimes exceed available resources, which creates problems.

Raise approvals can take a long time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look to expand career opportunities for employees and reevaluate salaries or other forms of compensation, such as bonuses. Make sure to take care of employees that provide the backbone of their group. When the proper praise isn't shown, it hurts morale.
