OK but not inspiring. Owners are out of touch with employees & customers.

Marketing Manager (Former Employee) San Francisco, CA

ProsOn the ground level, the employees at peer level are nice people, friendly. The location of the office is convenient. If you have a good relationship with your direct manager, you can have more flexibility at work. There isn't a huge stress to work late or much overtime - it's rather relaxed (which is a mentality that can actually be a con when trying to actually get things done that require help from others).

ConsThey keep the pay averages on the low end of all salary ranges, and give meager raises. Stifling corporate environment that does not produce much creativity (many times well-supported and researched ideas from below get stopped at the top). The lack of resources across departments means that there aren't typically enough staff and money to do the work (or do it properly) upper management wants done. There is very little transparency across the board, with very poor data analysis capabilities to boot, so the lack of support to measure marketing tactics makes a marketers job more difficult and vague than it need be. I would question the health of the business for the future - and how long Intrax will be as large of a company as it is now.

Advice to Senior ManagementIt's a "Mission-driven company," but nothing at Intrax inspires much of anyone to drive the mission. The owners' idea that employees should put their soul into it just because they work there is an old-fashioned, hierarchical way of thinking that's out of touch with today's workforce. For the industry, it's too stifling and "corporate" of a culture, and creativity gets squashed all too often. Corporate initiatives can be out of touch with customers as well. Communication and transparency must improve, and the idea that fewer employees can do more and more with less and less equals poorer and poorer quality of work and output. There should be more focus and cross-functional support.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Work with great people but most don't stay for long

Placement Coordinator (Former Employee) San Francisco, CA

I worked at Intrax full-time for more than a year

Pros: Most Intrax employees are there because they want to do something related to cultural exchange and are therefore interesting, fun, well-travelled people. In general,… Cons: The pay tends to be low and the pressure to make the company money can be strangely high given the semi-altruistic mission that is espoused… Advice to Senior Management: Be more open that motives of the for-profit divisions of the company are to make money during the hiring process. A lot of new… Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend More
