Pros

This job offers decent benefits, most of which are being redacted and changed. It is simply a job in the region for life science majors looking to go elsewhere, but need a job for the meantime.

Cons

The management will feed you words and "future plans" with no compensation, in order to save face and get the work done. They have little to no direction in their decisions, lack foresight, treat their employees unfairly and rarely have anything encouraging to say. There is a GIANT disconnect between upper management and the people who actually do the work. They do not care about fixing any of these problems, because they see their employees as expendable labor. The work environment is dull and uninviting, yet most of the colleagues are nice.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees more justly, offer long due compensation for their efforts, do not feed them words of future plans without actually acting upon them and get in touch with the low morale all of the employees are currently feeling.

    Pros

The technology has enormous potential to be game-changing and highly attractive to potential partners if the company decides to focus and invest in the necessary efforts to demonstrate its successful application in each product space.

    Cons

Inexperienced and weak leadership at the top of each division (e.g., presidents and key executives with minimal or no experience in division-specific product development and marketing), poor communication, unclear business objeectives and frequent abrupt changes in senior leadership have led to frustration and wasted efforts on the part of employees. Random, abrupt and frequent layoffs in recent months (think South America in the 1970's and '80's) have substantially affected morale and have been extremely disruptive to making progress on the few projects where objectives have been clearly stated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Appoint people to key senior leadership positions that have signficant and relevant experience in the product space, empower and direct them appropriately and give them enough time to achieve results. Clear top-down communication and consistency of actions with messages will go a long way to restoring morale and productivity. Developing products based on the technology as opposed to slide decks describing "conceptual uses" will go a long way in nurturing successful partnerships.
