Pros

Intuit, Inc. provides business and financial management solutions for small and medium sized businesses, financial institutions, consumers, and accounting professionals primarily in the United States and Canada. These solutions are foundational for end-users and thus positions Intuit well in this difficult economic time, as evidenced by its recent positive Q2 earnings report. Intuit provides a great work environment by: 1. Clearly and consistently messaging company goals and priorities 2. Demonstrably valuing employees 3. Promoting a strong company culture centered around integrity and respect

Cons

1. Trying to be more innovative; not there yet 2. Highly consensus driven, slowing decision making

Advice to Management

Develop a separate business model that supports innovation, rather than wedging it into the processes of core product development.

Intuit, great place to work, but room for improvement

    Pros

Managers openly support balancing work and life with rhetoric and actions. They encourage employees to take care of issues at home before tackling work as they know you are only as good as you are engaged and it is hard to be effectively engaged when a temporary personal matter requires focus.

    Cons

It is very hard to get noticed unless you are "in" with a group. Managers do not actively seek what is going on in the front lines waiting to notice who trumpets the loudest or who is most flashy when some of the greatest work could be done with modesty. Once that hurdle is mastered, it is easier to succeed with ease.

    Advice to Management

Be proactive in seeking the best of employees. The current mentality is to wait and see instead of trying to find that uncovered nugget. The squeaky wheel should not always get the grease (reward).

Benefits are fantastic! Be prepared to move in lockstep...

    Pros

The great benefits; I mean really great.

    Cons

Get ready to suck up to get where you want. It is not about innovation or the customer, it is about making sure management gets what they want. The company preaches "the customer", but only if it doesn't interfere with their comfort zone.

    Advice to Management

Actually let employees contribute and innovate instead of froming a plan and then pushing it without researching it with the 3 main stakeholders FIRST!
