Pros

Outstanding benefits and rewards system. You have a feeling of having an impact which is rare for a large company. The company and managers take career growth seriously. Brad Smith, the CEO is probably the best there is. He is very engaging and trusts his people.

Cons

High turnover rate of senior level management in IT means strategies are never fully realized. They really need a strong CIO.

Advice to Management

Find a CIO who will commit to staying longer the two or three years to see a plan through to the end.

    Pros

Amazing CEO. Unlike many CEO's, Brad can actually walk into a work space and know the value each employee provides to Intuit.

    Cons

Senior management styles vary from team to team. Some are less open to constructive criticism than others.

    Advice to Management

Be more receptive to feedback. Especially from the companies own internal survey. Let's make sure we are solving all of the product development communities needs between self hosting and assisted. An iron fist approach may hurt our ability to provide internal customers the tools they need to do their jobs.

    Pros

10% Personal time for innovative projects Lots of training

    Cons

Architect role is almost a technical lead and managerial role, particularly in functional teams. Too much plugged into day to day development cycles as a an agile resource. Product development technical innovation is slow. Very little interaction with senior level management.

    Advice to Management

Support and encourage architects. Too much support for engineers at the expense of architects
