Former Employee - Web Advisor in Englewood, CO
Former Employee - Web Advisor in Englewood, CO

I worked at Intuit full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Great comp & benefits, lots of upward mobility (unless you're stuck in websites.) Solid corp values and strategic vision. Talking with other employees across the country and Canada it seems they are all supported and have access to the resources to be successful.

Cons

Websites was acquired in 2007 but viewed as a red headed step child - for good reason. Management is selfish and only looking to further their career while good people sit on the outside looking in at a great company.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of websites upper and lower management and replace with people who care about their employees and the business' success.

    Pros

    work from home policy
    great benefits
great onsite perks (game rooms, gym, cafeteria, happy hour)
other perks (team building event, laid back travel expense policy)
    work life balance
Training and education is encouraged and paid for

    Cons

At the senior level there is a log jam of talent and it can become difficult to move up
Extremely high turn over in the CIO position
Head quarters are in Mountain View, CA, very difficult to move into executive levels of management or architect without being in this location

I have been working at Intuit full-time

    Pros

    Outstanding benefits
Campus amenities are unreal: gym, volleyball, basketball, gourmet food, game room
    Operating values
    Lots of training opportunities
    Overall nice people

    Cons

Lots of legacy technology clogging up the works
The company repeatedly invests in massive technology initiatives that either end in disaster or lots of pain and suffering
VPs and Directors seem to live by a different code of conduct in a few business units

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't just measure employees on their results and against the operating values. You should also measure their skill in their job. There are many senior professionals who don't actually perform at that level.
