I worked at Intuit full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

People oriented, both customer and employee. Good life-work balance, except during busy season, but generous overtime policy helps.

Cons

They don't really train young managers on their way up. Mature managers know how to work with team members, junior "studs" are all about improving their own career paths.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trust your middle managers. Train your junior managers, and I don't mean The pansy Thunderbird training they got in Phoenix.

I worked at Intuit full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great benefits- fitness incentive paid for my annual gym membership! Best health benefits I have had at any company. Tuition reimbursement and career empowerment classes were also valuable.

    Cons

Great culture and values- if they actually lived up to them. Intuit is a huge company so I can't speak for every business unit, but the division I worked for definitely did not adopt the True North mentality espoused by management. We were overworked and underpaid. They restructured our bonus metrics, and even though we were working harder than ever, we made significantly less in our quarterly bonus.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend more time listening to front-line employees especially PRIOR to implementing big changes. Be more proactive instead of REactive. Implement changes so you don't have to go through 10 layers of management to make process improvements.
