I worked at Intuit full-time

Pros

Great campus
Great benefits
Higher than average compensation for the area
Lots of great people at the individual contributor level

Cons

Slow to no advancement at higher levels. They hire most VP's and Directors from outside.
Work life balance skews towards work.
Direction from upper management is not clear and focused. i.e. 40 things are a priority.
Yearly layoffs
Growth is slowing
Moving work offshore

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend more effort on substance and less effort on spin.
Make the effort to really know and understand the organization 1 and 2 levels below you versus relying on superficial assessments by others.

    No clear direction
Literally every project is 5 years too late
Too much corporate cheerleading, instead of doing real work that matters
Middle management is incompetent and vindictive
Annual Employee Survey results do not matter and bad managers continue to mismanage their teams

I worked at Intuit full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Good benefits, good work-life balance

    Cons

Green card category is EB3 even if you are a senior software engineer with a master's degree and 5 + years of experience.
Lots of politics and favoritism. People who are not good at their jobs but can talk fluff are valued more
Promotions are slow unless all you do is flatter your boss and be a yes-man

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please respect immigrants and change your Green Card policies if you want to attract good talent or want to retain your employees.
