Pros

The best reason to work for Invesco Aim is the benefits, location, free parking and free cokes. Being that Invesco AIM is a part of the financial investment business it has taken a beating from how the financial industry has fallen.

Cons

Some of the downsides of working at Invesco Aim is lack of room for career advancement, downsizing and being a subsidiary of a larger company. The company is ran like a true "corporate company". The initial founders ran the company like a family owned business and you could see the difference in the environment at the company. Now it's strictly all about the bottom line. The employees do not come first as they did in the past.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Involve the people who actually do the work everyday.

    Pros

    If you do not have a college degree, it isn't bad money for a call center. There is a money purchase plan in place which pays 6% annually, but you are not fully vested until you have been with the company 4 years. It also has a 401k in place which matches up to 5%.

    Cons

    Very poor promotion opportunities; low pay for anyone w/ a college degree. It is nearly impossible to get vacation time when you want it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Focus more on what type of employee you should be recruiting for a specific decision. If you recruit college grads for a client service position, and fail to provide advancement opportunities, you will not retain talent.

    Pros

    Higher than average pay. Pleasant work environment. As long as a mediocre employee keeps his nose clean, he has a job for life.

    Cons

    Many back office and I.T. jobs being outsourced to India. Talented staff find employment elsewhere due to job stagnation. The result is a company staffed by a majority of long term employees with no ambition/desire to grow just doing the minimum to collect a paycheck. The company has cancelled many inexpensive low-mid staff perks while Senior Management fly expensive Net Jets.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Play hardball and send mediocre employees packing. Drop the policy of requiring managers to provide justification why every vacant job position SHOULDN'T be outsourced to India. Cancel the companies NetJet contract and fly commercial. Restore the policy of requiring staff to rate their manager's performance.
