Pros

The professors care about the students, and it is a great way to get a taste of what the life of research is like. The staff took all the students on many fun trips, and were pleasant to work with. They have some of the coolest equipment for HCI research I've seen anywhere.

Cons

Iowa State is located in Ames, IA. If you are used to living in a big city, this will be a big change. There are a few bars open, but not much else to do in the town. It is very much a campus town and is quite quite in the summers.

Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing!

    Pros

Nice academic environment, beautiful campus. Here in Ames, Iowa, a college town, you can meet dedicated students, scientists from all over the world. ISU provides lots of opportunities to train your leadership and cooperate skills.

    Cons

Need to find a way to attract and keep more professors.
Not a very convenient location, potential challenge for outer state internships and jobs.

  2. Great job to have as a student!

    Pros

You get to work with other students so it's a great way to make friends. They also always work around your class schedule and let you pick when you work during finals.

    Cons

They only con is some of the dinning centers make you work in the dish room for one of your shifts. However, it's pretty easy to get it switched to another area of the dinning center if you say that you have a conflict with that scheduled time.
