I have been working at Ipswitch full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Ipswitch is a growing company that wants to be the next great software company.

Great work environment
Great benefits package
good work/life balance
smart & innovative people that love going to work each day

Cons

They are growing quickly and hiring many new employees. My only concern is... will they be able to continue building upon the great foundation that they've created over the past 20 or so years.

One of few growing and profitable companies that works hard at doing the right thing for employees and customers!

I have been working at Ipswitch full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The advantage of age (22 year old company), mature business (profitable and growing since year one) and an outstanding reputation (both products and as an Employer).

Employees empowered to make a difference, identify projects and take acceptable levels of risk in solving problems or seeking new business opportunities.

Culture and values are outstanding - from the Snack Shack, to the Above and Beyond awards to the all company trip (with spouses) to Florida celebrating 20 years as a company!

Fairly recently, a renewed commitment to training employees across all divisions and departments, not just R&D.

    Cons

Company is "growing up" and new management team and processes and procedures will take some time to work their way through company.

The company is growing, fast and career path planning will become more important.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue commitment to on-boarding new employees (e.g. Training) to get them more productive faster.

I worked at Ipswitch full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Outstanding benefits (6 weeks vacation after 4 years, good health insurance plans, etc...)

    Cons

Politics, total lack of product vision and understanding by decision makers. In the end, Ipswitch is just a me too company, the product roadmap is just Solarwinds website (main competitor and market leader).
For a company this size, the number of management layers is just incredible. A once cool small company has slowly become as bad as any...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Roger: You are way over your head, you have been for years, time to sell your company to people who actually know what they are doing before it is too late.
