I have been working at Iron Data full-time (more than an year)

Pros

-large amount of growth, over 100 employees added in 2012 (25% increase in overall staff)
-Senior management gets it, little micro management, positive work environment

Cons

-very fractured due to nature of company's growth (acquisitions)
-little done in the way of onboarding/training
-company would rather provide experience than compensation leading to high turnover as ambitious staff look for better opportunities

I have been working at Iron Data full-time

    Pros

Laid back atmosphere, no micro-management, managers respect employees. Iron Data seems serious about building a united, cohesive team out of all the individual companies they've acquired. That will take some time but it's encouraging to see the effort. Senior management appears very approachable and interested in keeping employees informed of what is going on within the company.

    Cons

Segmented company due to acquisitions. Sometimes I feel VERY far away from "Iron Data". Improvements are being made company wide but there is still lots of work to do.

Compensation could be a little better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Referring to different areas of the company as VERSA, CAVU, ACO, etc does not help promote a unified Iron Data and contributes to an "us vs. them" mentality at the local level. While this isn't a dire situation it is something you should consider thinking about. Consider getting creative and figuring out a way to introduce some team building exercises that would help far flung employees feel like part of the Iron Data family.
