I have been working at Isilon, A Division of EMC as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

My manager and my teammates are very helpful, even with the intern like me. They provide helps everytime I need it.
I also love the feeling of startup environment in here, where everything is not buried in a huge management tree. I report to my boss, who reports to the manager of engineer department, so the number of management layer is under 5.

    Cons

I don't like the block concrete style of workplace. It makes me less creative. Also, I wish there is a place to take a nap.

Lots of nice people on a death march in a misogynistic corporation

I have been working at Isilon, A Division of EMC full-time

    Pros

    Excellent benefits
    Good location
    Lots of free food
Some truly great colleagues - smart and fun

    Cons

This is not a safe place for women -- the only areas where women can advance here are hr and support roles. Corporate events include photo ops with skimpily clad cheerleaders. Women, no matter what their job titles, are expected to coordinate meetings and do administrative work. They're assumed to be non-technical. Women who seek to increase technical involvement are chastised for it.
