I have been working at Islands Restaurants part-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Managers work with a flexible schedule. Open door policy. The employees are great to be around. A very easy job as a server.

Cons

The location is very hard to predict whether it will be busy or not. May walk with 10 dollars or 100 dollars. Never really have consistency.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managers have improved over the last year. Very happy with management.

I have been working at Islands Restaurants full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good burgers, great people at the hut and good work/life balance

    Cons

Don't expect some managers to back you when you have a better and tested way to do things, especially if it involves ANY training of restaurant managers, despite that 1 hour training saving at least 15 hours a week for corporate employees, make things easier and grow the "Corporate vs. Field" employee miscommunication that often slows down work on both sides..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Talk to your employees and listen to them. Supervisors are not our elected or appointed voices. Youve lost some great, loyal and talented employees because of the walls put up by supervisors.
