I have been working at J. C. Penney

    Pros

The level of customer service and continuing effort for customer satisfaction is one of the very best I have every work within. The new advertising Campaings are fun and entertaining. Associate Discounts make it very hard not to shop ALOT.

    Cons

In February a New CEO was brought in to Helo JCP transition in todays failing economy. Over haldf of the Store staff were let go and Now starting May 20 the salon associates will no longer receive the commission on Product sales or services but are being given hourly rate based on Productivity while the prices charge previously to clients are being lowered. Basically Every Stylist in the nation that work at JCP loose 25-40 % of there income and have no ability to recoup wages.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leave the salon stylists that are bringing in revenue with the current pay types. New Hirees can be brought in under the new plan of Hourly only. No One is going to accept a demotion because number crunches dont use all the facts.

    I worked at J. C. Penney

    Pros

The people that worked there were great. It was like a great big family.

    Cons

All the changes have been hard to deal with, especially bloody monday. It was a cold, calculated move. Do not know what the future holds for JCPenney.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is scary that one man's decisions can affect so many peoples lives.
