I worked at J. C. Penney part-time (less than an year)

Pros

They give you a good amount if hours

Cons

If you work around the holidays they have you do tedious things, managers never learned my name, they didn't even realize if I didn't go to work or left early.

    I worked at J. C. Penney full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Ability to work with a fun and lively team close to home. Had the ability to move up quickly based on the skills I learned from working and communicating closely with management. I worked at two different locations because I loved the company and what I did as an associate and as a supervisor.

    Cons

Hours, the nights and weekends were exhausting and the big reason I left. I was getting married and was looking long term to how my "family" would be able to spend time together when I was always working nights and weekends. Yes, there were some day shifts but when your soon to be husband works also, the time just wouldn't match up for us to get quality time together.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

None, they worked great...ALL of them in both stores I was at. They trained, motivated and encouraged me to always reach the next level. I would not have been there for 6 years if it weren't for their support and team environment.
