    I worked at J. C. Penney part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Employee discount and slightly above min. wage pay. They give 25% off to employees which is better than most places.

    Cons

Treated like you're less than human. Can only use the restroom on break no matter what, can't leave the store on break and you must go on breaks as a team. Also, was told I was to take a lunch break by my main boss (I was was working between part time and full time) only to be told by my supervisor that I could not. Supervisor tapped her watch when it was break time and reminded me that while everyone else had half hour, I only had 15 minutes. It was obvious that everyone was terrified by this supervisor since the mood changed drastically when she walked away and comments were made.
If you work here, plan to leave your dignity at the door.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat employees with respect and make sure all leaders do the same. When you know they are not, do something to change it.
