    I worked at J. C. Penney full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Most of the time it was a relaxed area. Well that is if you stood up to your management. The home office was nice, with all the little shops and in house gym.

    Cons

Overall the company is a good company to work for but when they got the new CEO. The company last it's way of what it stood for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Its not good keeping everything same. It's about moving forward and make everyone's job easier. Take a stand and have a back bone. It's not about being everyone's friend.

  2. The upper management is what made this unbearable for me

    I worked at J. C. Penney full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The benefits were pretty good. I enjoyed working with most of my associates

    Cons

The corporate office did very little when saddled with lots of complaints about store management. When working retail there really are no holidays. It is difficult to plan any holiday family trips.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop hiring store managers who come from the cookie cutter manager store. Management with some humanity, and good morals left in them would be nice.
