I have been working at J. C. Penney part-time (more than an year)

Pros

Good position keeps you busy with stocking inventory, online ordering with lots of great returning happy customers, some perks on online sales now and ICAP's.

Cons

Not really any at this store. Seems most employees know each other and are willing to help get a project completed if you have a problem.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

In store managers nice are very helpful keeping others informed on constant changes in store. Management in this store is on top of all projects going on. I feel that are doing a great job at Corbin Park Kansas store.

I have been working at J. C. Penney part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

They will work around your schedule. They will give you hours if you're a good worker and if you meet the credit application goal.

    Cons

Low pay, often not enough help on the floor due to budget cutbacks

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate desperately needs to change their vision and bring back coupons. The current strategy will be the downfall of JCPenney. Bring back focus to the customer and not the look and feel of the store. The average customer is not going to notice or care about little details on placement of a group of shirts. The sets have become so structured that it hinders common sense!!

    Pros

Good associate discount, nice coworkers, can be a fun place to work.
    Continuing education.

    Cons

Constant changes make things uncertain. Recent layoffs in our department have created a lot of stress. Pay structure changes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize and reward hard work. Bring back incentives to do our best. Happy employees mean happy customers.
I would advise upper management to test out practices before rolling them out to everyone.
