Pros

Before changes company was great to work for and team was strong.

Cons

After changes no one is engaged and everyone is out for themselves. My job was changed into something I am no longer a fit for.

    I worked at J. C. Penney part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Decent percent off merchandise. You can use your discount on any department so there is a lot of merchandise that you can get cheap. During holidays they provide lunch for employees so you don't have to wait through lines.

    Cons

    Slow pace. There were often very few customers so I ended up just cleaning and then getting in trouble for there not being enough sales. We should not be blamed for there being no customers in the store.

    When I was sent "white tile blitzing" I would get in trouble for bringing in the "wrong" type of customer.

    Very negative attitudes. On one of my first days there I was scheduled for one hour before anybody showed up. I was never told when my first day orientation would be and then I was docked for being late.

    Try to have more communication with employees and stress a good attitude.

    I have been working at J. C. Penney part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    I really love the friends I have made while working at this company. My coworkers are great and most of them are easy to get along with.

    Cons

    I don't agree with how they did things during the holiday season. They hired about 20 (give or take) seasonal employees, but then cut the regular employee's hours down. I was getting 8 hours a week in December/January when I needed money the most!! They should have just given us full-time hours and not hired more unnecessary people.
