I worked at J. C. Penney full-time (less than an year)

Pros

Interacting with new people, assisting customers were enjoyable, the lunch breaks were reasonable and nice, and the Department managers were nice.

Cons

for JCPenney to be one of the retail giants, the pay rate was only 30 cents above the poverty line. Management was unorganized, the store manager was rarely around. for the back-breaking work that you have to do, it was not worth the 7.50 earned per hour. Overnight work was unpredictable, and so was the scheduling.

    Pros

working at JCP is pretty fun. flexible hours. friendly management. training was made fun and simple.

    Cons

Being on your feet all day can take a toll. They expect you to wear only certain colors so you may have to invest in new clothes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to value your dependable employees. Hard workers are hard to find and a nice word of praise would go a long way.

    I worked at J. C. Penney part-time

    Pros

Nice customers (occasional bad customer), some nice new friends.

    Cons

The bosses were alright but one would tell you to do one thing while another tells you to do something else and you get yelled at for following the other boss's instructions. Confusing and some rude fellow employees. (This is just my personal experience). I got paid minimum wage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maybe give two interviews instead of one to get to know the person that you are hiring better. It makes it easier for everyone involved.
