I have been working at J.P. Morgan

    Pros

Renumeration, job prospects and corporate name. Compensation is much better than my previous employers (US Software vendor) and bonuses are a perk. The opportunity to move about within the same company but to a massive number of different roles is also a great situation to be in. The general nature of managers and management is helpful, even in these hard times.

    Cons

In some technology areas, there are too many 'managers' - in name or actual job roles - but not enough individuals to do the work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reduce the number of managers - we seem to have one for every conceivable role - when often, you can leave a manager to manage a number of roles or tasks, and have more people to do the actual work.
