    Pros

    * its a job, they pay money
    * some of the projects are cutting edge, and you can learn from from them
    * So far still decent on the vacation time (and you will need it)

    Cons

    * Expect to be overworked and under paid
    * Virtually no promotion path for sole contributors
    * VERY political
    * Indecisive management will change core aspects of a project on a dime, without any regard to the technical issue that will arise, and demand the project will still be delivered on time
    * Benefits are getting eroded (like all the industry for that matter)
    * You can not work from home
    * Zero chance of getting your full bonus, unless you are at least an ED or higher

    Advice to Management

    * Shape up or ship up!
    * Stop promoting based on politics
    * Promote based on success not failure
