I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Early direct responsibilities, one of the biggest players in practically every market, good opportunities for training and development, decent pay, low stock to cash ratios

Cons

Hugely political and bureaucratic, you really are part of the corporate machine. "Meritocratic" pay is subject to whatever is going on in the rest of the bank and the industry, clearly true of any bank but with one as big as this your own contributions matter less in the big picture.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better communication down the chain of command, make the effort to show that decisions are based on actual objective judgement and not for political reasons

    I worked at J.P. Morgan

    Pros

Excellent benefits, looks good on your resume, lots of free training available.

    Cons

Career growth is encouraged, however advancing within the company is tough. Hiring methods are unfair. Many job postings are posted by managers, to follow protocol, after already knowing who they will hire.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Appreciate the lower level employees more. They are what make the company run and make you look better to your management.
