Pros

There is a great culture in J P Morgan Chase. People are usually friendly, actually more friendly than I had expected. Willing to teach what they know, even when I was just an intern.

Cons

It is a huge company. So it is difficult to really know most of your colleagues by name. For some people, you recognize their faces, but you never know their names.

    Pros

The thought of one day getting paid well

    Cons

As with any bank there is an unbelievable amount of bureaucracy. Climbing the corporate ladder here is about kissing the right asses.

    Advice to Management

I don't particularly think the culture can be changed.

    Pros

Structured environment, as a first job will get a good sense of how corporate culture functions.

    Cons

Bureaucratic and inefficient communication across manager hierarchy. stellar performance may be overlooked and conversely poor contributors might not be addressed. Depending on your manager, this could make it difficult to distinguish yourself and advance your career.

    Advice to Management

Less emphasis on the mid-year, year-end reviews - more focus on day to day performance.
