I have been working at J.P. Morgan (less than a year)

    Pros

There is a great culture in J P Morgan Chase. People are usually friendly, actually more friendly than I had expected. Willing to teach what they know, even when I was just an intern.

    Cons

It is a huge company. So it is difficult to really know most of your colleagues by name. For some people, you recognize their faces, but you never know their names.

They can attract talent, but haven't done much to keep it. Negotiate hard at entry as things don't come naturally here.

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The company is large, global, and constantly evolving, so many new appealing opportunities can arise.

    Cons

Extremely difficult to obtain a commensurate raise, proper rank, or deserving bonus - even during or after a promotion. They don't come naturally, nor are they entirely based on performance and merit. Little to no reward for the addition of greater responsibilities. The environment can be very political. You must fight for every possible extra penny.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay and reward your talent more. Reward those who receive favorable reviews. Reward more equally across all positions.
