Pros

The company is very pro growth opportunity. Mobility is big and is seen as a plus. It's very multi-cultural and tolerant of differences. It celebrates it in fact. Literally. I love the fact that I work at a company as diverse as this. And not only that, but I work with people located all around the world.

Cons

Some managers need to work on giving feedback throughout the year instead of just during review time. The health insurance is not great. Maybe all companies are suffering due to Obama Care. But my family deductible is $3k which is obscene. If you don't get sick, it's great.

Advice to Management

Rework the insurance plan!

  1. Good pay and benefits, not so good work-life balance.

    Pros

-- Good pay and starting vacation time. The benefits as a whole are good. -- They allow and encourage internal mobility as well.

    Cons

-- Way too much beuracracy in the IT space. Most projects that impact several groups will end up getting delayed because one or more teams end up stumbling over some red tape. -- Work-life balance is not so good. If it comes to it, you really have to just put your foot down and let them know you're unwilling to put in the hours demanded, or else your personal life can suffer. -- In some departments, the offshore development model is very effective. Keep in mind that if this is in place, you will be doing almost 0% coding and will lose some real job marketability.

    Advice to Management

-- Tone down the IT Risk Management stuff. It's nearly impossible to get things done sometimes when you don't have the tools or access you need to do what needs done.

    Pros

-Not too many hours. -Decent commision stucture. -if this is your first job out of college, it gives a great starting salary

    Cons

-Most of the staff are unprofessional/uneducated including managers. -Unless you want to be a manager, they do little work to help find you other positions within JP Morgan. -Manager is never sensitive to the needs of his/her staff members.

    Advice to Management

Make more of an effort to help your employees grow within the company. Why focus on only the managment position when there a hundreds of differnet promotions out there for your bankers and other employees.
