Former Employee - QA Analyst in San Francisco, CA

I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time (more than an year)

Pros

My experience is specifically with the Mobile banking team:
- Learn with the best industry standard IT management tools in a process optimized environment
- Learn to work with dispersed teams using state of the art communication tools
- Be surrounded by brilliant project focused people who work at a relentless pace
- Learn form a delivery focused metrics driven schedule with tight releases
- Treated as professional with reasonable work from home allowances and flexible schedules

Cons

- Expect weekend work, and high pressure work environment
- Minimal on boarding where most people are too busy to train new employees
- Large offshore component and communications can make collaboration challenging
- Little interaction between teams, very segmented and narrow roles
- Little team building, cramped office in fringe SOMA location

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve your on boarding and work facilities to compete with other IT companies in the area. Create an innovation team to keep good employees engaged when projects get cancelled.
