I worked at J.P. Morgan

Pros

The pay is good and the health benefits are okay. On the surface the vacation time looks good but you probably will not get to take it all.

Cons

Lack of integrity at all levels of the company, bullying in the workplace is common place and viewed as acceptable behavior, non-existent HR department,no work life balance due to continually being under staffed.

I have been working at J.P. Morgan as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

None. There is nothing redeeming about this company.

    Cons

Offshore mentality. Most if not all contractors are furloughed the last week of the year. Extremely cheap, penny-wise, pound-foolish, etc. For instance, developed on an Android platform but forced to use an emulator. No devices provided. They push deadlines requiring overtime but no method to bill more than an 8hr/day. If a holiday falls on a weekday, it's a 32hr week no matter how many hours you worked. The company generates $1B/week yet some teams cluster and buy their own spring water (5 Gallon drums are found throughout the DE office). Coffee? Go hump and buy some at the overly-priced cafeteria. Need basic office supplies (pens, staplers, etc.)? Bah...hah...ha! You get the point...

There is no way this place can keep the "best and the brightest." It seems more like an effort to keep the "desperate and the dim-witted."

Finally, look at the recent crime this company was just fined for. $13B!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop sucking-up the chain as well as strangling the budget of teams beneath you. Stop the conflict of interest in seeing how much greed you can get away with.
