I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Had good support and access to great research, modeling tools, and a team of hardworking and dedicated workers to give a competitive edge.

Cons

I felt at times that the smaller firms were easier to maneuver to bring innovative ideas to market with less management meetings to gain approval.

    Cons

low salaries compared to other financial institutions
upper management focus more on business not employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

invest in your employees and stop focusing only on the business, if you did so the turnover rate will be less

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time

    Pros

Professional development, networking, and a fairly friendly environment. Great place to join if you are at one of two stages in your career. If you are just starting your career & want to learn valuable skills, join. If you are over the mid-level manager manager hump (you are at the executive level), join and run team filled with very smart people.

    Cons

Mobility is unnecessarily difficult, office politics can become annoying. Sometimes too much value is placed on who you know and appearances instead of doing a great job. If you are joining from anywhere in between the 2 career stages I mentioned in the "Pros" section, think twice… It may be tough to move up the ladder.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the desires of your top performers.
