I have been working at JBS S.A.

Pros

Fancy new corporate office building, excellent location, most employees are friendly. Discounted purchases of meat! Benefits are pretty good.

Cons

-Below market salaries for lower level positions
-Sketchy accounting practices
-A management team from Brazil that thinks they can make their own rules, with little regard towards American laws and business practices
-Lots of knee jerk business decisions, and big ego's

I have been working at JBS S.A.

    Pros

A select few co-workers are great to work with and the attire is pretty laid back. They also provide company paid life insurance and STD/LTD for non-union employees.

    Cons

There is little to no training after being hired, the pay is much lower compared to the market, several management employees don't even speak English, work-life balance is non-existant due to 10+ hour shifts and required Saturdays, 360 reviews, the programs the company uses are ancient, the insurance rates are sky high, and corporate is trying to force every plant in the country to operate by their policies/procedures/pay grades even though many locations have a much higher cost of living. Also - if you need to travel for training or relocating, you have to pay all costs up front and be reimbursed 2-3 months later! Not everything is about money and numbers!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

At least learn English on top of your own language, demand training in the areas you need to know (FMLA, Absences, Medical needs, Diversity, Sexual Harrassment, etc), and treat your team like humans and not like numbers.
